The other thing that might be a problem is that the pin assignment on the connector that plugs into your Poly 800 is the exact opposite of the original power supply.- is now +.and + is now -.I have dealt with that many times. Then I had the brilliant idea to try plugging the PSU into the synth without the PSU being plugged into my power strip.same thing happened! It still shut off the synth immediately. I found this odd, ordered a different replacement PSU, and the same thing happened! However, when I plug it into the synth, the synth immediately shut off. I bought an after market PSU which is rated with exact same specs and polarity as the original. Even if you use the Poly-800s AC adaptor when play- ing, always keep good batteries in the unit to avoid memory loss.
Never had the PSU and want to keep it in my studio set up, therefore being plugged in is a must. Batteries work fine, internal battery is fine, plays great. First post here, so I hope it's in the right place.
